As a college student, it can be difficult to afford or have access to certain items or appliances. My thesis concept is to create a website or mobile application for students request a pick of items that they no longer need and for students to request to borrow/take the items they want.

As someone who is looking into the business field, I wanted to incorporate my marketing minor and computer science as away to show my set of skills and creativity for Job applications. I want this project to resemble my time at TCNJ and using the skills I’ve and the many I will learn throughout the research and development of this thesis.

Swap n Shop

At the end of the spring semester, students who have items they no longer have use for but this have some functionality can register into the service. What item it and while further explaining its capabilities and purpose. These items would be processed and stored for the incoming class. The process and storage will be to ensure the product is usable. Processing these items would be using a sensor /cubby system to ensure that the item is in stock. While I am still deciding either it would be a rental or buying service, I would like to look into Arduino as I believe it will have some functionality for my thesis.

I am targeting college students, students who wouldn’t have the accessibility to certain appliances or products.

As a project like this may be ‘big’ for a spring showcase, I plan to have a small scale version. I would need to learn more on website building and creating a database that will store and utilize the information. My focus would to be further develop my knowledge on HTML, CSS, and JAVASCRIPT and also learning more about X-Code, and Arduino.
