10/10/19:

  • Research sustainability (What is it? How do people define it?)
  • Start tracking list of sources
  • Research the field, tiny-housing market, sustainable housing market (current state: What’s going on right now?)
  • Start researching industry event(s)

10/17/19:

  • Research tools to use to create project
  • Continue research.
  • Create file of data, ideas, and questions to ask Sustainability Institute
  • 10/14-15/19 meet with Sustainability Institute TCNJ chat about project (historical context)

10/24/19:

  • Compile examples for design (photos, sketches, etc.)
  • Begin designing floor plan and outline for home (compile photos for reference)
  • Chat with Civil Engineers (figure out which programs are best suited for 3D house modeling; show proposed home designs)
  • Reach out to Will Seddon (for construction costs)
  • Reach out to John Snow (for plumbing, electrical costs – maybe, depends on design)

10/31/19: 

  • Put together proposal (compile research)
  • Create Financial Budgeting Model
  • Finish 1st draft proposal
  • Visit with SBDP at TCNJ (talk about receiving grant money, etc.)

11/7/19:

  • Revise proposal based on SBDP input
  • Start building prototype (floor-plan, 3D model, visualization)

11/14/19:

  • Send proposal out to companies asking for grant $
  • Continue work on prototype.

11/21/19:

  • Should have industry event by now.
  • Continue work on prototype.

11/28/19 (Thanksgiving):

  • No Class. Realistically, celebrating Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
  • Finalize prototype if need be.

12/5/19:

  • Industry Event Assignment Due
  • 12/6 FALL SHOW

12/12/19:

  • Start to finalize final proposal

12/19/19:

  • Final Proposal DUE

Winter Break:

  • Follow up on grant applications, continue research, design, and modeling.
  • Develop branding

Spring Semester:

  • Build it!!! ☺
