Revised Concept

Pete’s Revised Concepts

  1. Introduction
  2. What is your idea?
    1. An online gallery of student’s artwork and passion projects with a focus on building an artist’s community within the community of the school.
  3. What inspired your idea?
    1. I wanted a place besides Instagram or Facebook to showcase my work where I could get real feedback from other artists in my position.
  4. Why are you personally inspired by this idea?
    1. I’m inspired by this idea because I love creating in all forms. Whether it be a website, a graphic design, a photograph, or a musical piece I love the act of designing and creating something that means something to me.  Someone could learn a lot about me personally by looking at my art work.  I think this would be a great way to meet new people – by looking and listening to their artwork.
  5. In what way does your project represent your personal values and interests?
    1. This project represents my personal values because it would be a free website to showcase things that are meaningful to you.  By posting your own material you can get real feedback from your peers.  Also, by viewing others work you can get inspired by the people around you and maybe even want to work together or collaborate with them.  My values of creation and community are really being represented here.
  6. In what ways does it reflect your future aspirations? Professionally? Creatively?
    1. In the future I hope to have the necessary skills to work professionally as a freelance website designer for anyone who needs my skills, but hopefully for artists and other designers who want a really unique website that suits their aesthetic as an artist.
  7. Why should anyone else be interested in your project?
    1. It is something that everyone who is a creative can use and can grow artistically by using it.
  8. How is your idea useful and/or interesting to other people?
    1. It is useful because people could showcase their work within a community they are currently in and develop new ideas based on what their peers are doing.  They can find someone similar to them and really talk about their ideals and concepts that drive them.
  9. Who is your target audience and how does your project address their specific needs or interests?
    1. My target audience is artists at TCNJ.  My project addresses their needs of collaboration as well as meeting new people who share similar interests as them.
  10. Context
  11. How does your project extend existing knowledge rather than duplicate it?
    1. My projects extends existing knowledge by taking a well-established community like TCNJ and breaking it down into a community for the artists within TCNJ.  Instead of being the artist within your friends you could meet other artists who share your ideals and both people could grow as artists.
  12. How is your idea an improvement over existing work in the area? How does it break new ground (technically, stylistically)?
    1. It is a new concept because it is driving student artists to build a community together and work together while pursuing their passions
  13. Technical Strategy
  14. What software and hardware do you think you’ll need to complete the project?
    1. Coding languages such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS will be necessary to build the website.
  15. What specific skills, experience, and relevant knowledge do you bring to this project already?
    1. I have some coding experience and I have experience designing aesthetic environments online.
  16. What additional skills and knowledge will you need to acquire in order to execute the project?
    1. I need to grow a lot as a coder and become more familiar with these programs in order to build the best website possible.
  17. Aesthetic Strategy
  18. What factors will determine your project’s look and feel?
    1. The ease of use
    1. The colors used
    1. The typography used
