What I chose to make: For this week, I started designing the research report I will be showing at showcase. I made an outline and designed a few of the starting pages. The goal was to make it feel reputable, yet chill and a casual read.
What I hope to learn: I wanted to know what people thought of the design and overall layout of information. Would it be appealing to read or skim? Does it look professional? What other information should I add?
How I will go about getting this information: I ended up just chatting with people, starting them at the beginning page of my report. Again, suggestions or comments naturally came up.
What I learned, and what it means for my project: My classmates thought the layout of the report and the design was clean, professional, and made sense. However, when talking to someone more experienced, they suggested I move some of the information points around, which I agree with. I should also do a summary of each heading before I jump into details, and give people the information they need to know up front. The rest they can read more about if they choose. I also may want to change the color scheme so some of the words are easier to read.
