I’m making myself do this prototype first because it’ll help me to figure out consistent and absorbable wording, something that’ll be relevant throughout the project
In person surveys
Collect user data and reactions by reaching out to other IMM students and faculty
This would require creating a short and casual informational presentation for people to react to. I think I’ll try one or two versions to see how wordy I’m able to get before losing peoples’ interest
Record conversations, go back and create transcripts
Determine what I’ve learned; apply feedback
Brochure/booklet
Design a prototype for the field guide pamphlets to see how information will fit. Try out maybe two different sizes, 5.5×8.5 and/or 5×5
This is more for technically figuring out font size legibility and info layout, I’m not going to stress too much about the imagery/display typography/etc

If I’m understanding this correctly, it looks like the first prototype will focus on the landing page of the website–the first thing people see–while the second goes deeper into your strategy for delivering your message, and the third pertains to the takeaways you’re planning to leave people with.
Assuming I have that right, this sounds like a good plan. Make sure you come to each session prepared with specific questions about what you’re hoping to learn.
