This UI included a list of available units, an overview of a specific unit, a health bar for units, and the screen that appears when you are about to have a unit engage in battle. At the moment, the player&#8217;s side is represented by blue UI, while the AI or second player&#8217;s side is represented by yellow  UI. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I got quite a bit of useful feedback about this. One of the biggest things was that the UI was plain and didn&#8217;t reflect the piece designs or really have anything to do with the medieval theme that I was presenting. Additionally, there was no symbol or logo or anything else that separated the two sides other than the color, which could make things unclear, and it&#8217;s generally boring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the prototype UI was a very different color than the pieces. This could be an issue, because it makes it less clear which piece belongs to which side. I should model the UI&#8217;s color scheme off of what the pieces end up looking like, as opposed to the other way around. This is because there&#8217;s fewer colors that the pieces could possibly be than the UI. At the moment, the pieces are mostly red, but I hesitate to make the UI for the player red, as that could also send the wrong message. What will probably happen is that I&#8217;ll use a more neutral shade of wood for the player&#8217;s pieces, and then keep the opponent pieces as acrylic, which could end up with some yellow in them. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For this prototype I created a basic UI that will be used in the digital aspect of the game.
