For the second week of our prototype sprints, I brought in a very very very unfinished version of a song that I planned on bringing to the Fall Show. The song hasn’t been titled yet. It featured an instrumental with vocals. I received mixed feedback on this one. Some people criticized it because of its lack of drums, and because of it being an unmixed\/unmastered song. Some people liked the idea of the song and enjoyed the lyrical content\/ delivery idea. My goal was to create a song with raising vocal tension as the song gets longer, then to bring he tension back down. The purpose of this was to introduce a character in this album that has obvious mental issues. Based on the feedback, I am in the right direction as far as lyrics but I need to work on perfecting the instrumental.
