For my industry event I attended one\nday of the AnimeNYC at the Javits Convention Center in New York City that ran\nfrom November 15th<\/sup> to the 17th<\/sup>. The event took up half of\nthe convention center as the other half was a chocolate convention. It was\nsplit up into three parts, panel rooms, artist tables and booths, and merchandise\ntables and booths. The panel rooms were filled with folding chairs facing a\nstage in which the panelists would be on talking and answering questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I spent most of my time at the\nartist and merchandise areas. I walked around and talked to two artists at the\nmerchandise and artist tables. Each artist had a table where they displayed the\nthings that they were selling including prints of their work, comic books, etc.\n At the time I only had a rough prototype\nof the visual novel in Ren\u2019py so the feedback I received was mostly regarding\nthe actual story and transitions rather than the visuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was told to expand even more on\nthe beginning part where the main character wakes up after getting into the car\naccident. This is the first part of the story and the first thing the player\nreads. This makes sense since this is supposed to be the initial impact and sets\ntheir impression. The other piece of important feedback I received regarded the\nend of the prologue dream sequence. I was told to add a red transition fade to\nthe cafeteria right after the main character touches the back of his head and\nsees that there is blood. I thought that this was a really good idea. Although\nthe reader can tell that this is a serious moment from the text, having the red\ntransition really amplifies the effect and makes use of the visual novel aspect\nof the story.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
